What Vigo has proposed
Rather than one central perimeter, the city put forward four areas and asked residents which mattered most, through a consultation that ran to April 2024. That design choice is the reason Vigo has taken longer than comparable Spanish cities: four perimeters mean four sets of boundaries, cameras and exemption rules to settle before anything can be enforced.

Where your label does matter in Galicia and beyond
A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela run zones that check the DGT category, as do Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Zaragoza. If your trip continues to any of them, know which of the DGT categories — 0, ECO, C or B — your vehicle falls into before you set off; the label costs about EUR 5 at a DGT office or authorised inspection centre.
