Lecce ZTL — Zona a Traffico Limitato
The ordinances published by the Comune di Lecce (nn. 1679 and 1689 of July 2025) set the pattern still in force: the electronic gates into the historic centre stay dark from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:30 to 20:00 on working days, the area is unreachable on Sundays and public holidays, and transit through the Porta Napoli gate is forbidden around the clock every day of the week.

Deliveries Changed on 1 January 2026
Goods vehicles now load and unload on weekdays between 05:30 and 09:30 and between 15:00 and 16:00, and on Sundays and holidays between 06:00 and 09:30. The municipal notice of 23 December 2025 also cancelled every “C/S” and “Log” permit issued earlier, so businesses that did not reapply lost their access.
Entering Without a Permit
Cameras read every plate. The penalty is the one set by art. 7 of the Codice della Strada — EUR 83 at the bottom of the band, up to EUR 332 — and it follows foreign plates home. Rental car fines are charged to your credit card plus an admin fee.
How to Get Access
If staying in a hotel within the ZTL, ask reception to register your licence plate. This is usually free and takes minutes. Without hotel access, time your arrival for one of the two open windows or use car parks outside the ZTL and walk in.
