Since 1 January 2026, Kraków’s Strefa Czystego Transportu has covered roughly 60% of the city with no time limit written into the resolution, admitting diesel from Euro 6 and petrol from Euro 4. Nothing is sold for the windscreen; plates are checked against a register. Older cars are not simply shut out — until the end of 2028 they may enter for PLN 2.50 an hour. A breach costs up to PLN 500.
Uchwała nr XXXII/619/25 created the zone “z dniem 1 stycznia 2026 r.” and “na czas nieoznaczony” — from 1 January 2026, indefinitely, with no hours attached. Petrol needs Euro 4 or a 2005 build, diesel Euro 6 or a 2014 build. There is no sticker; plates are read against a register, and a foreign-registered car has to be entered in that register itself before it arrives. If your car falls short, the fee route runs to 31 December 2028: PLN 2.50 an hour, PLN 5 for the rest of the day in 2026, PLN 100 for a month. The penalty for skipping all of it is up to PLN 500. The Old Town remains a separate, largely car-free zone.

From 1 January 2027 that rest-of-day cover needs six paid hours, so the day costs PLN 15. A monthly pass costs PLN 100 in 2026, rising to PLN 250 in 2027 and PLN 500 in 2028. From 1 January 2029 the option disappears.
