Crotone's ZTL in 2026: Summer Nights, Winter Sundays

Crotone runs its seafront ZTL like a season ticket. The Polizia Locale timetable closes viale Cristoforo Colombo, piazza Berlinguer, viale Antonio Gramsci and part of via Poggioreale every night from 20:00 to 02:00 between 15 June and 15 September, then falls back to weekends and, from November, to Sundays and holidays only. Two groups are listed as authorised: disabled badge holders and residents with a garage inside the zone.

Almost certainly not. The comune authorises only holders of a disabled permit and residents with a garage or parking space inside the zone, who may enter solely to reach it. Everything else is refused whatever it runs on. The closure follows the calendar: 15 June-15 September, nightly 20:00-02:00; 16 September-1 November, Saturdays 15:00-24:00 and Sundays 10:00-20:00; 2 November-14 February, Sundays and holidays 10:00-20:00; 15 February-1 April, Saturdays 15:00-20:00 plus Sundays; 2 April-14 June, Saturdays 15:00-01:00 plus Sundays.

Crotone ZTL — Zona a Traffico Limitato

The Zona a Traffico Limitato runs along the seafront promenade rather than around a medieval core, which is why it is busiest exactly when the restriction is tightest: summer evenings. Cameras read plates at the boundary and check them against the authorised list. What decides entry is who you are, not what you drive.

• Holders of a disabled-person permit for the vehicle used
• Residents with a garage or private parking space inside the zone, entering and leaving only to reach it
• Emergency and service vehicles

Permit / Registration

Authorisation is requested from the comune: download the form, complete it in full and send it by certified email to protocollocomune@pec.comune.crotone.it, or deliver it to the municipal protocol office with the supporting documents. There is no sticker to buy and no on-the-spot pass at the boundary.

Operating Hours

Seasonal, as listed above. In high summer the zone closes every night; from November to mid-February only on Sundays and public holidays.

Fines

The comune does not publish a euro amount for the offence, so the national rule applies: unauthorised entry into a limited traffic zone is sanctioned under Codice della Strada art. 7 c.14: EUR 83-332, issued from the camera record.

Tips for Visitors

• Check the date, then the day — the same street is open on a January evening and closed on a July one
• Park outside the promenade and walk in; the closed stretch is short and made for strolling
• A modern or electric car earns you nothing here — the list of authorised categories is what counts
