Czechia has no emission sticker — the ministry writes that “fyzické emisní plakety, jaké fungují např. v zahraničí, nejsou podle zákona o ochraně ovzduší na území ČR vyžadovány” — and it has no low emission zone in any municipality, Brno included. So there is no Euro minimum to meet, nothing to display and no fine.

Drivers arriving from Germany or Austria expect a windscreen plaquette, and resellers are happy to sell one. Czech law never created that instrument. The ministry’s plan, if a zone is ever declared, is a national number-plate database — you would enter your registration and emission class online, and municipal police would check the same system. It states that the database will be switched on within twelve months of the first declaration and that, no zone having been declared, it is not running.
What Brno does restrict
The historic core has pedestrian and limited-access streets governed by permits and signage. That is an access rule, not an emission rule: a Euro 6 car with no permit is turned away, and a Euro 2 car with one is not.
Tips for visitors
- Ignore sticker resellers. There is no Czech plaquette to buy, at any price.
- Check your Euro class anyway if your route continues into Germany, Austria or Italy, where it does decide entry.
