You need a green Umweltplakette (~EUR 6-15) to drive in the zone, or risk an EUR 100 fine; most modern cars qualify, foreign cars included. Park and walk the village and the orchard and vineyard paths. Germany’s limits: 50 km/h urban, 0.05% alcohol.

Near Urbach is Schorndorf, a handsome half-timbered town and the birthplace of Gottlieb Daimler, a pioneer of the automobile, with a museum to him. The Remstal continues with wine and fruit villages, and the wooded Schwäbischer Wald rises to the north for walking and cycling. Stuttgart, with its car museums (Mercedes-Benz and Porsche), grand squares and culture, is a short ride to the west, all reachable from Urbach by car with the green badge or by S-Bahn.
