Inside Treviso’s walls the question at the camera is whether you are authorised, not how old your car is. The historic-centre ZTL runs all year, and the comune sets no tariff of its own, so an unauthorised entry falls in the national band of EUR 83 to 332. On top of that, through the cold months Treviso applies the Po Valley anti-smog measure, a weekday restriction on older combustion engines whose level moves with measured PM10.

Two rules, kept apart
- ZTL: permit-based, all year, enforced by plate cameras at the gates. Residents, businesses inside and guests whose plate the accommodation has registered are the usual routes in.
- Anti-smog measure: seasonal, weekday daytimes only, and stricter on days when PM10 readings are high. The level in force is announced by the comune and ARPAV publishes the readings behind it; a summer trip is not affected.
Electric cars escape the second rule but not the first.
Park outside, walk in
The walled centre, with its canals and the fish market on its island in the river, is small enough to cover on foot, so leave the car outside the walls. It earns its keep on the drive north into the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco hills, where a designated driver matters at the tastings.

Italy’s urban limit is 50 km/h and the alcohol limit is 0.05%; drivers under 21 and those in their first three years of holding a licence must keep to zero.

Winter tyres in Italy — 2026–27 season

There are two. The historic-centre ZTL inside the walls is permit-based and runs all year: residency or an authorised category decides access, not Euro class. Separately, Treviso applies the Po Valley winter anti-smog measure, which restricts older combustion engines on weekday daytimes and tightens as measured PM10 rises.
The comune publishes no tariff of its own, so the national band in article 7 of the Codice della Strada applies: EUR 83 to 332.
Ask your accommodation to register your plate for the ZTL before you arrive. Otherwise park outside the walls and walk in; the centre is compact.
