Lublin has no clean transport zone: Polish law lets a council create one, but Lublin has not. No vehicle is restricted and no fine exists. Dipped headlights stay on at all times in Poland.
Lublin is one of the Polish cities that could create a clean transport zone and never has: no council resolution exists, so any car can drive into the centre without a check, a registration or a fine. That leaves the visit to the old town and the castle on the hill, whose Holy Trinity Chapel is covered in Byzantine-Ruthenian paintings finished, by the chapel’s own inscription, on 10 August 1418 under a master named Andrzej.

No zone, but Polish road rules
Poland’s clean transport zones are set city by city under the Electromobility Act, and where one runs, cameras check the Euro standard against the national vehicle register rather than a sticker. Lublin has none. What applies is the national code: dipped headlights on day and night, 50 km/h in built-up areas, and an alcohol limit of 0.2 per mille.
Park, then walk to the castle
Leave the car in a car park near the old town and walk. The streets inside the Kraków Gate lead straight to the castle, where the chapel is visited as part of the National Museum in Lublin; the frescoes were uncovered from under whitewash from 1899 and conserved in a campaign that ended in 1997.
When the car helps
Drive out for the State Museum at Majdanek, the former German concentration camp on the city’s edge, and for Roztocze National Park to the south.
