Cameras and signs were in place when a joint council and government review, published in October 2020, concluded the zone was no longer required: the buses, lorries and taxis it targeted had already cleaned up. Private cars were never going to pay anyway, so a visiting car owes nothing here, which leaves the 30 mph (48 km/h) urban limit, left-hand traffic and clockwise roundabouts as the things to get right.

No car charge, park and walk
Drive on the left, roundabouts clockwise, and keep to 30 mph in built-up streets unless signs say otherwise. Park in a central multi-storey and walk to the arcades, the Corn Exchange and the Royal Armouries. The drink-drive limit in England is 80 mg per 100 ml of blood.
