Ferrol was legally due to have a low-emission zone by January 2023, and it still does not. The council has picked an area around Ferrol Vello and appointed a consultant, but no ordinance has brought the zone into force and no date has been set. For a driver that means no DGT label, no camera and no fine; park near the centre and explore the naval town on foot.

Is there a ZBE in Ferrol?
Not in force. Any vehicle may enter, labelled or not, Spanish or foreign. A ZBE can be enacted with a few months’ notice, so check again before a future trip.
Arriving and parking
Leave the car in a car park near the centre and walk the grid of the Barrio de la Magdalena and the waterfront. Spain’s urban limits are 50 km/h on multi-lane roads, 30 km/h on single-lane-each-way streets and 20 km/h on shared surfaces; alcohol 0.05%.
Elsewhere in Galicia
A Coruña, about 20 km away across the rías, enforces access restrictions in its centre with a EUR 200 fine, and Lugo runs a ZBE as well. The Costa Ártabra north of Ferrol has no zones.
