Driving in Cattolica — A ZTL Family Beach Resort on the Romagna Riviera

Cattolica has restricted-traffic zones in parts of its centre, especially the seafront and pedestrian areas, camera-enforced, with fines around EUR 83-160 for unauthorised entry. The rules can be seasonal, with more pedestrianisation in summer. For most visitors, parking outside the zone and walking the seafront and centre is simplest, especially in the busy summer season.

Cattolica is a classic Romagna Riviera seaside resort, known for its broad sandy beach with rows of organised bathing establishments (stabilimenti), a lively pedestrian seafront and centre full of shops, bars and gelaterie, a family-friendly atmosphere, and the Acquario di Cattolica, one of the largest aquariums in Italy, housed in striking 1930s rationalist buildings. It's a place for beach holidays and summer fun rather than historic sightseeing.

Use a car park or garage outside the ZTL and pedestrian areas, then walk to the beach and seafront. In summer the central seafront is largely pedestrian and parking near it is in high demand, so arrive early or use a garage a little back from the front. Parking outside the restricted zone and walking is the simplest approach in this busy resort.
