Brussels LEZ 2026: Euro 6 Petrol In, Unlisted EUR 150

Yes, with room in both directions. Brussels admits petrol from Euro 3 across all 19 communes, and from 1 January 2028 that floor rises to Euro 4 — a 2018 Euro 6 clears today’s line and the 2028 one. A petrol Euro 6 is outside both moves, which makes this one of the more durable verdicts in the Belgian capital until 2030, when the agenda refuses petrol Euro 6b, 6c and 6d-TEMP.

The three amounts on the official list

• EUR 350 — a vehicle that does not meet the Euro standard, entering without a valid day pass or exemption.

A first offence brings a warning letter rather than an immediate bill, and since 1 July 2026 the EUR 350 fine can be re-issued over a 12-month period while a vehicle remains non-compliant.

If the car could not meet the standard

Brussels sells a day pass at EUR 35, capped at 24 passes a year for the same vehicle — a safety valve rather than a plan. Electric and hydrogen vehicles, and oldtimers of 30 years and older, are exempt outright. None of that is needed for a Euro 6 petrol; it is worth knowing only if a second, older car joins the trip.
