The TyreMap editorial team is responsible for keeping the 3,000+ pages on this site verified, current, and consistent with official sources.

What we verify

  • LEZ rules — cross-checked against the European Commission’s urbanaccessregulations.eu registry and the relevant city authority site (Berlin Senate, Mairie de Paris, Comune di Milano, TfL, etc.).
  • Speed limits & fines — verified against each country’s national transport ministry or equivalent (e.g. Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr, Direction de la sécurité et de la circulation routières, ANAS, DVSA).
  • Tyre laws — verified against national legislation indices and ETRTO publications.
  • Country-level driving regulations — cross-referenced with embassy travel advisories, AA / RAC guidance, and primary law texts.

Update cadence

  • Each page is reviewed at least quarterly.
  • Pages are re-verified after any reported law change or news event affecting the regulation.
  • The last verification date is shown at the top of every regulatory page.

Editorial process

  1. Source acquisition — official government text or registry record.
  2. Cross-check — at least one independent source (national auto club, embassy advisory, urbanaccessregulations.eu).
  3. Translation review — native-speaker pass for non-English source material.
  4. Fact-check footer — every regulatory page carries a fact-check disclosure with sources.

Editorial principles

  • Sources first: every fine, sticker requirement and speed limit is linked to its primary source.
  • Date-stamped: every page shows its last verification date — not a “published” date.
  • No regulatory guessing: where a country lacks public documentation, the page says so explicitly rather than fabricating values.
  • Year-current: regulations from prior years are kept as historical context only when relevant; the headline rule is always the current one.
