Yes, with an IDP: Canada says visitors must carry one. India issues the 1949 model and UK advice lists 1968, so get the hire firm's written OK. Traffic keeps left, as in India.
Indonesia spares an Indian driver the hardest change: traffic keeps to the left, as at home. The seat is on the same side, you overtake the same way and roundabouts flow as you expect. The paperwork is stricter than the driving, so start there.
The IDP, and which one
Canada’s advice says visitors must carry an international driving permit with their licence, and UK advice says a home licence cannot be used on its own. The UK permit table lists the 1968 model for Indonesia, while India, a party only to the 1949 convention, issues the 1949 model through your RTO. Motorcycles and road conditions
Canada describes reckless driving, poor lighting and signage and heavy congestion, and warns that motorcycle and scooter accidents are the main cause of death and serious injury among foreign visitors, Bali included. The WHO profile gives limits of 50 km/h in towns, 80 outside them and 100 on motorways, though in Bali and Jakarta traffic rarely allows it. Give motorcycles a wide margin, signal early, and avoid driving after dark outside the big cities.
If something goes wrong
UK advice says that after an accident you should stay at the scene until police arrive, keep the vehicle secure, make a formal report and cooperate fully, and it warns that foreigners can face extortion even after minor incidents.
Alcohol
WHO records no blood-alcohol limit for Indonesia, so there is no margin to rely on. Drink nothing if you are driving. For police, call 110. The Indonesia driving guide covers the rest.
