Can a British Driver Drive in the Falkland Islands? — Same Side, IDP Not Needed

If you hold a UK licence and you are heading to the South Atlantic, the paperwork question answers itself. The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory, your British licence is recognised outright, and no International Driving Permit is needed. Speeds are governed by what the road allows rather than long stretches of posted signs, so drive to the surface, not to a number — gravel rewards patience and punishes braking hard. Wildlife and the occasional loose stock are part of the picture too. Keep your speed down where visibility drops over rises and around blind bends.
