Can a French Driver Drive in Argentina? — Yes, but the IDP Is Mandatory

The licence verdict for French drivers

You can drive in Argentina on your French licence, but you must carry an International Driving Permit with it — this is a requirement, not a recommendation, and roadside police and rental companies will expect to see both documents together with your passport. Apply for the IDP in France before you fly; it cannot be issued in Argentina. Without it you risk being turned away at the rental desk or fined at a checkpoint.

Argentina drives on the right, exactly like France, so there is no side switch to relearn and no first-day disorientation.
